AMRITSAR: A statement issued by the Panthic Committee here said Rajiv Gandhi had one of the biggest ever majority in the January 1985 Lok Sabha election on the Sikh Card. Zia had been told “not to play the Sikh Card.” The dogged resistance offered by the Sikh militant outfits and their survive’ with a rising morale give rise to tectonic tremors in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab like genocide of Muslims in Kashmir.
“Again the Sikh card prompted the National Front government of VP Singh to withdraw the 50th amendment. The increasing pressure exerted by the Sikh militant outfits necessitated moving the Sikh Card by VP Singh in the Lok Sabha 64th Amendments of the constitution failure to pass and thus bringing the National Front Govt on the brink of a political disaster. The Indian High Commissioner was rocked by the Sikh Card in London’s South hall Gurdwaras Mr. Kuldip Nayer tried to make a pseudo speech exercising his fake secularity from a religious platform like the late Indira Gandhi organized a Sarbat Khalsa to put a secular gloss over her theocratic bigotism in demolishing the Sikh seat of religions and temporal sovereignty of the Akal Takhat in 1984.
