DURBAN: A young, intelligent Indian student, aspiring to be a fashion designer has been denied admission by a local white technical college.

Imraan Vagar, 18, a star pupil at the multi-racial Wood-mead secondary school in Johannesburg, had obtained the highest marks at the joint matriculation boards exams,

Vagar was informed that he could not study at the natal Technikon but could opt for the M.L Sultan Tec hnokon in Durban, which caters predominately for Indian students, offers a three year diploma in fashion design, reports the press trust of South Africa.
