LUDHIANA, Punjab, India: Mr. Daljit Singh of Ludhiana has been unanimously elected convener of the AISSF in place of Mr. Gurjit Singh.
A decision to this effect was taken here at a meeting of the AISSF, according to a Press note issued by Mr. Kulwant Singh Khukhrana, a member of the AISSF ad hoc committee.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Sher Singh, Mr. Surinder Singh Baba and Mr. Kulwant Singh Khukhrana, members of the ad hoc, committee, and AISSF district Presidents.
The meeting condemned the arrest of Mr. Gurjit Singh, Conjvener, and Mr. Gurjit Singh Kaka, {a member of the ad hoc committee, and warned the police against torturing these AISSF leaders.
The meeting condemned the ‘SGPC for removing the Sikh high ‘Priests and maintained that the SGPC had no power to remove them. The meeting assailed the attacks ‘on migrant laborers and charged that this was being done by the Government to harass Punjab farmers and malign Sikh militants.
