NEW DELHI(PTI): Out of 1,013 Indian Nationals under detention in Pakistan jails as of February 28 this year, 84 have been released, India’s deputy foreign minister R.L.Bhatia informed the lower house of Parliament (Lok Sabha) last week. The freed Indian prisoners include 83 fishermen, there are other S50 fishermen still in Pak custody, the minister said in a written reply. He said the government was making sustained efforts to seek the release of the fishermen in Pak custody. Modalities for their release were under discussion through diplomatic channels, he said.
