CHANDIGARH: State police chief KPS Gill claimed here on Sept 2 that five militants responsible for the Kabarwalla train killings were killed in 6 hour encounters at a farmhouse.
Two of them were identified as Nachhatar Singh and Iqbal Singh. The farmhouse where the police said the militants were hiding belonged to Nachhatar Singh. The unusual police figure of “two AK 47 rifles and large quantities of ammunition being recovered from the site were also given out.
In another “encounter” police said two militants were killed when they were being taken to another town.
