CALCUTTA: The toll in gastroenteritis in four districts of the state ‘of West Bengal in eastern India, has risen to. 424 while the disease afflicted a total of 7,311 people since May, according to the state health department sources here.
State finance minister Asim Dasgupta told reporters that further spread of the disease had been considerably contained by the timely preventive measures taken by the health department.
