CHANDIGARH: Four persons were killed and 12 injured in a bomb blast in a cinema hall at Kurukshetra, while 12 persons, and were shot dead in Haryana and Punjab since Saturday night.
A major tragedy was averted at the Patti railway station in Amritsar district when a police party detected a grenade there.
Unidentified men kidnapped five persons and security forces captured three militants with arms and ammunition in Punjab during the period.
A militant was killed in an encounter near Kabnawala village in Faridkot district, police said.
One AK47 rifle, two hand grenades and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered from the scene, police said.
