Ajmer — Thirty-seven people arrested in Punjab last year was released from the Central Jail here on Sunday.

According to informed sources, the remaining prisoners had been transferred to other parts of the country.

The sources said 146 activists had been transferred to Jodhpur Central Jail during the last four days. They were taken in batches from here by road during night under strict security.

Seventy-two others were taken to Nabha jail in Patiala district from here and eight persons arrested under the National Security Act in Delhi had been transferred to Tihar jail.

 

The authorities released six persons from the Central Jail here since Saturday evening following revoking of their detention under National Security Act.

Those who have been released are Mr. Swaran Singh, Mr. Jagdish Pehwlan, Mr. Kulwant Singh, Mr. Narinder Singh, Mr. Gurnam Singh and Mr. Parminder Singh.
