Refugee claimants, foreign students and temporary workers could all loss their OHIP coverage under Bob Ray’s move to cut more than $1 billion from Ontario’s $17.5 billion healthcare budget at preset, temporary Ontario residents are covered in the same way as permanent residents. Under the new policy, they would lose that coverage and could be forced to bear their own medical bills.
