RANCHI (PTI): Angry villagers last week lynched 22-year-old youth for assaulting four nuns of a missionary run leprosy center in Itki near this industrial city in the caster Bihar stale
The Nuns who suffered serious abdominal injuries were admitted to the Ranchi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) here.
It is alleged that the youth Alfred Tudu was in love with the daughter of a patient at the center and was not in the good books of the nuns.
He was refused entry during the Christmas celebrations at the center He had then allegedly vowed to stab the sisters to death the paper Reported.
On Jan.5 that night just after the sisters had offered their prayers Alfred attacked them with a knife wounding them seriously
Calcutta-based Nobel laureate Mother Teresa who has founded the missionaries of charity that runs the leprosy center air-dashed to Ranchi and condemned the incident as shameful
She said she did not want any undue publicity given to the incident.
