NEW __WESTMINISTER (CANADA): A youth conference for the benefit of the English speaking youth and adults will be held on April 4 1992 at Khalsa Diwan Society New Westminster (Queens borough).
This conference by the International Sikh Youth Federation will be held in English on the current struggle of Sikhs for freedom in India.
Dr Amarjit Singh Khalsa spokesperson of Panthik Committee and Director of Khalistan Affair Center USA will be special guest speakers of the conference
In a written statement issued by Bhai Ranjit Singh Dosanjh Vancouver stated that Sikhs all around the world must realize what our priorities are before it is too late. Our brave soldiers struggling to liberate the Sikh nation need our support. Although it has now been 7 years since the Sikh nation had declared a war for Independence from the Indian Government tyranny our achievements in 7 years have not been acceptable considering that we live in countries where we have no great difficulties. We have seen many opportunists infiltrate themselves into organizations and the damage they have done is incredible. Going back to 1984 we were all united on the two main issues. First being unity within the Panth and secondly Khalistan Now then why have we lost our very first goal Sikh unity? Simply for one reason and one reason only we have certain people in every organization standing in the way of unity. It’s every body’s duty if we ever want our own Independent state to recognize these people and get rid of their services. These are the same people who once preached unity and freedom and are now preaching hatred and spreading false propaganda to defame the underground freedom loving Sikhs. It has now come to the stage were organizations are attacking each other in the newspapers. What stupidity. How can we expect I help our brother & sisters back home if we can even help each other here We are even starting to see some very ugly figures spreading hatred of Gurdwara stages. The same one: who use to speak for Khalistan and support for the Khalistanies. Why wont the membership of their organizations removes them as their leader’s what doesn’t understand.
The power of the leader always lies in the hands of the membership of his organization and if that leader is creating a split in the Panth it is every member’s duty to vote against him. When a Gurdwara is being misused it is the very duty of the Sikhs to become members of that Gurdwara and vote for a change. But before we do that be careful. Gurdwara elections can sometimes get dirty. It’s a sad thing but sometimes when a party controls a Gurdwara for a long period they start to feel it their property and they don’t want anyone but themselves. The most important thing we must watch for are self-styled leaders who base their agenda on hatred against another party. Although I am against elections sometimes it is the only solution Any person who attacks or is opposed to the freedom fighters is and can never be a good leader for our Gurdwara’s I.S.Y.F has appealed and encourage everyone to participate especially the youth of our community con whose shoulders ties the lies the responsibilities of our future destiny.
