Boston — As a follow up action to the WSOUSA National Council resolution Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal, Secretary WSOUSA sent the following telegram to Baba Joginder Singh, convener United Akali Dal.
“World Sikh Organization USA, National Council unanimously resolved to urge all Sikh leaders, Jathedars and leading Sikh Society leaders to unite. Support the United Akali Dal. Support Khalistan movement. Boycott elections in Punjab. Elections cannot be fair with Sikh Nationalists in jail and with increased military presence in Punjab.”
Copies of the telegram were also sent to Jagdev Singh Talwandi, Gurcharan Singh Tohra, Surjit Singh Barnala, Parkash Singh Badal, President Zail Singh, Prime. Minister Rajiv Gandhi and to newspapers like The Tribune, Chandigarh; Indian Express, Chandigarh; Ajit Jullundur; Hind Samachar, Jullundur; Akali Patrika, Jullundur and Blitz, Bombay.
