Sir,

In the Dec 15, issue of Indo-Canadian we read that the statement issued by S. Didar Singh Bains and published in the WSN was his individual view and not that of the WSO.

Also, Sikhs living in the US did not provide any legal or moral support to Gen Jaswant Singh Bhullar.

Both these statements are incorrect and do not reflect the true Picture. We do not believe in making an issue, but we believe these are very important and serious events.

The valuable contribution made by S. Didar Singh Bains in the establishment of the WSO and the dedication and sincerity with which he served as first President for two consecutive terms is well known to every Sikh. He is one of the senior most members of the governing council of the WSO. On Nov 12, he represented WSOUSA at the annual meeting of the WSO Canada. The statement he issued was based on his observation as a WSOUSA representative at the WSO Canada meeting. WSOUSA expresses its full confidence and trust in his observation and judgment.

WSO USA and its members Provided legal, moral, and financial support to Gen Bhullar. His request for change of legal status from visitor to permanent resident was pursued by a Washington based prestigious law firm. It was due to their efforts that we were able to prolong his stay. Before his departure he was advised by his attorney about other legal options available to him. He declined to exercise the other options and decided to leave the US voluntarily. I would like to remind those who are criticizing us that we are less than 0.01% of the US population. In spite of this small number, we managed to extend his stay. Sikhs in Canada constitute 2% of the population. In spite of your number and power which you claim, you could not even obtain an entry permit for him for a few days to enable him to participate in your meeting and he had to address your gathering at the border from the US side. It is easy to criticize others, but difficult to hide the facts.

We greatly appreciate your commitment and dedication to serve the Sikh cause.

Gurcharan S. Dhillon

President

Guram Singh Pamma

Senior Vice-president _WS.O.USA.
