LIVE OAK: CA: The National Council of the World Sikh Organization (U.S.A) through a resolution adopted at its meeting here on November 5, 1988, appealed “to all organizations that are fighting for the Sikh cause and all those committed for the creation of Khalistan to unite and work together.”

The Council also re-iterated its previous resolution “to work with them to free the Sikh nation from slavery and create an independent sovereign Sikh homeland.”

The meeting was held at the Live Oak Gurdwara and attended by delegates from California, Mid-West and other areas. S. Didar Singh Bains, in this welcome comments suggested that discussions should confine to constructive suggestions only. S. Surinderpal Singh Kalra, Director Administration, presented the report covering the activities of the various: chapters in the four regions.

In an informal conversation with World Sikh News, the organization President, S. Gurcharan Singh Dhillon said that the general consensus at the meeting was to develop and maintain active liaison with the freedom fighters. “We are going to be judged on the basis of our contribution to our goal which is to win freedom for the panth, because Khalsa Panth ‘was not created by the Guru to suffer slavery but, to strive for freedom,” he said. Others who participated in the discussion included’ S. Gurnam Singh Pamma, Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal, Prof. Manjit Singh Sidhu, Dr. Gurinder Singh Grewal, Dr. Karamjit Singh Rai, Dr. Sulakhan Singh Dhillon, S. Ajaib Singh Sidhu, Dilbagh Singh Bains, Amarjit Singh Buttar, Dr. Harbans Singh Sraon, S, Alla Singh, Bhai Gurdeep Singh Sohal, S. Sewa Singh Lalli, and S. Harjap Singh Sangha.

CHANDIGARH: Justice I.S. Tiwana, a retired Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court has been elected as Vice President of Punjab Human rights organization. He replaced Mr. Sukhdev Singh a well-known Journalist who volunteered to offer his post to Justice Tiwana.
