OTTAWA, Canada: A joint meeting of the general assembly of the World Sikh Organization and the National Executive Council of the World Sikh Organization of Canada was held in Vancouver on June 9, 10 and 11, 1990. This gathering reiterated its support for individuals and Sikh organizations fighting for the cause of Khalistan and expressed its fervent hope that Sikhs in Punjab hopefully will be able to unite for the cause of Khalistan.

The other issues discussed at this meeting were the steps to increase the grass root support, further increase individual and institutional membership and how further improve the communications between the head office and the membership.

It was also decided to further strengthen the WSO branches in South East Asia and Europe. The constitution of Khalistan which is currently under circulation will be sent to all the executive members for further improvement.

Following individuals were elected to the WSO International for a period of two years.

  1. Gian Singh Sandhu President, Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal President Elect, S. Didar Singh Bains Past President, S. Parminder Singh Parmar Secretary Governor of Finance, S. Amarjit Singh Buttar Director of Finance.

The members of the governing council have already been elected by various countries.
