Sacramento — An elaborate function to celebrate the 1st anniversary of World Sikh Organization as also the second anniversary of the Gurdwara Sahib was held here at Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) premises. It was a neat, disciplined and extremely dignified function and credit for excellent (organization goes to the “Gurdwara Management comprising S. Kammal Singh Gill, S. Pargan Singh and S. Bahkshish Singh Banwait.
The function concluded with the adoption of a resolution condemning the “sell out” agreement between Rajiv Gandhi and H. S. Longowal.
The function started after the Bhog of Sri Akhand path, Bhai Swarn SinghBhai Kuldip Singh Giani Sansar Singh and Giani Harbhajan Singh of International Youth Camprecited hymns and devotional songs and kept the audience spellbound.
Bhai Wadhawa Singh Gill of Stockton recited the Katha and Bhai Harminder Singh of India spoke for 45 minutes regarding Sikh ways of life and explained how Gurbani can show the vay in crisis.
Didar Singh Bains President of World Sikh Organization International outlined the achievements and objectives of W.S.O. He said we will continue our struggle until the sovereign Sikh state is achieved. He said “Sikhs will never forget the supreme sacrifice of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Gen. Shubheg Singh and Bhai Amrik Singh and other Sikh Martyrs. He will continue to support W.S.O. and emphasized the importance of Individual contribution.
Ganga Singh Dhillon President W.S.O. (U.S.A.) discussed the Agreement between Sant Harchand Singh Longowal and Indian Government in detail and stated that WSO (U.S.A.) rejects the Agreement in total. He expressed full confidence in Baba Joginder singh.
Lakhmir S. Chima emphasized the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation during the time of crisis.
Sulakhan Singh stated that political and economic freedoms are essential parts of religious freedom. Gurnam §S. Pamma outlined some of the deficiencies in the working and laid stress on improving them. Hardyal Singh Dhatt of Stockton requested the audience not to get discouraged and frustrated over the Agreement as the Sikh masses have rejected the Agreement and are with Baba Joginder Singh.
The rank and file of WSO has assembled here today from all parts of the country to celebrate the 1st anniversary of WSO. On this auspicious occasion our determination to pursue its objectives need to be reasserted, particularly in the context of fraudulent accord signed in Delhi between Rajiv Gandhi and Harchand Singh Longowal. The accord is a betrayal of all for which the Morcha (struggle) was launched. In view of the above, the congregation assembled here at the Gurdwara Sahib (Sikh Temple) Sacramento resolves as under:
RESOLUTION: (1) that the deceptive accord signed between Rajiv Gandhi and the discredited Harchand Singh
Longowal is unacceptable to the WSO rank and file and the Sikh congregation (Sangat) assembled here today.
(2) That the struggle for the preservation of Sikhism, the sanctity of Sikh shrines and creation of a sovereign Sikh State (Khalistan), where Sikh nation shall be master of its own destiny, will continue.
(3) Further resolved that the WSO extends its unqualified support to the Sikh nation which is struggling for the human rights, religious rights and right of self-determination under the leadership of Baba Joginder Singh.
Resolved that copies of this resolution be sent to Baba Joginder Singh, convener United Akali Dal Press Newspaper/News Agencies, Harchand Singh Longowal, Rajiv Gandhi, and Prime Minister of India. S8.G.P.C.
