I want to congratulate the World Sikh News on eight years of excellent coverage of issues concerning the Sikhs in Punjab, the Sikh American community, and everyone who cares about human rights around the world.
Since being elected to the U.S. Congress, I have received thousands of reports about terrorist acts being perpetrated by Indian security forces against the people of Punjab. Unfortunately, many Americans and Members of Congress are still unaware of this tragedy. The World Sikh News has proved a reliable and consistent source of information for myself and other members of the U.S. Congress. Being the so-called world’s largest democracy should not exempt India from scrutiny of its poor human rights record. Fortunately, the World Sikh News fully understands this principle.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone at the World Sikh News for your reporting of events in Punjab. While the rest of the world ignores the plight of the Sikhs, the World Sikh News is a symbol of hope for oppressed persons around the world.
