STOCKHOLM: Asian Immigrant Writers & Artists living in Europe and N. America got together at Stockholm, Sweden. During the first week of Oct.89 to attend a Writer’s Workshop. The Guest Writers who attended the Workshop from Europe & N. America were: Rani Naginder New York, Iftekhar Kaseem, Chicago, Sayyed Anjum, Oslo, Nassar Malik, Chand Shukla, Copenhagen, Abu Talib, Safdar Ali, Dr. Khalid Sohail,Javed Danish, Toronto, Mohsin Zaidi, E. Berlin, Irphan Malik, Masood Qamar, Sain Sucha, Stockholm, and Ahmed Faqin.

The workshop was hosted by writers residing in Stockholm Sweden, their friends, local Pakistan People’s Club & Pakistan Committee. In the week long workshop an evening was dedicated to the subject the search of Identity’ in which participants discussed the issues at personal, social and literary levels.

Poetry recital was held in which poets writing in Punjab/Hindi Urdu/English/Swedish participated.

The Poems were translated in different languages to felicitate cultural & Literary exchange.

Collection of Sahir Ludhianvi’s Poetry translated into English by Sain Sucha was also released. The workshop was successfully concluded by deciding that, the proceeding & discussions of this unique workshop will be published in a book by the Title ¢Impressions & Creations’ of Writers’ workshop 89.

The next writers workshop will be held in 1991 at Copenhagen, Denmark. It was generally felt that the whole workshop was an experience of inspiration & opportunity of Literary & cultural Exchange for the Participants.
