NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court dismissed a writ petition seeking re-deployment of the Special Protection Group (SPG) to provide security to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Justice M M Puncbhi and Justice K Ramaswamy while dismissing the petition observed that such “public interest petitions create unnecessary panic in the public.”
The petition was filed by Pared to the court it was in the interest of the general public that such protection should be provided to Rajiv Gandhi.
