TRONTO: The International Community which has united for the release of Justice Ajit S.Bains is calling for world-wide action on June 56 & 7. They are asking to exert pressure on the Govt of India for his immediate release. Among the activities being organized in Canada are a picket of the Indian High Commission in Otlawa on June 5 and a public meeting in Toronto on June 7.
W.S.N in its continuing effort to report on the status of Justice Ajit Singh Bains is printing two letters from prison written by the Justice.

The vernacular daily “Ajit” of April 9 reported that according to the Punjabi Chief Minister Beant Singh the arrest was made with his approval He told the press that Justice Bains had said many objectionable things in his speech on the occasion of Hola Mohalla gathering at Sri Keshgarh Sahib. The Chief Minister explained that it was necessary that an individual’s name should figure in the FIR before he is arrested.
Earlier replying to questions rose during a discussion in the State Legislature on April 6 over demand for grants for the Home and Justice Departments Beant Singh said that his government had no intention of releasing Ajit Singh Bains who headed the Punjab Human Rights Organization.
The Chief Minister also recalled that during the Barnala Ministry Justice Bains while heading a committee to review the cases of those under detention had “indiscriminately” released nearly 3000 persons.
