WASHINGTON: It is now officially accepted in the US that too much television makes Jack and Jill dull at school, And I a major problem for America.

In the first international assessment of educational progress, the educational testing service of Princeton, New Jersey, Students from six countries were tested on the effects of television. The result was shocking though that is what parents have been telling their kids all the time: the more the students watched television the lower their academic performance.

LONDON: The term intifadha (people’s uprising) has been included a new English language dictionary issued here.

This term in use since December 8, 1987, the day the Palestinian uprising began the occupied territories has officially been included in the English language.

Besides this term, 1200 new words have been included in the new dictionary.
