Dear Khalsa Ji,

“Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh.”

Sikhs the world over are greatly perturbed over the inhuman treatment being meted out to their Community in India. Raiding the Sikh temples and in aS criminate arrests and killings of the Sikhs only pee to the widespread violation of the human pee our people. In order to protest against this, the W.S.O. has chalked out the following program.

You are ordained to observe martyrs’ week from 1st to 6th of June, 1985 in the memory of the devout Sikh men, women and children, who sacrificed their lives to uphold the glory and honor of the Sikh nation. The week should be marked by prayers, Kirtan, Akhand Paths and Amrit Parchar. On 6th of June please distribute langar and clothes to the needy and donate blood to the patients in collaboration with the Red Cross Society of your area, in memory of the Sikh martyrs. Also conduct “Rainsbai Kirtan’”’ on the night of 6th of June.

We should pray to the great Gurus to give us enough strength and inspiration to follow in the footsteps of these martyrs so that the Sikh tradition of sacrifice for righteousness and truth may continue till eternity. May the Almighty grant us moral courage and the wisdom to distinguish between the true and the false so that the traitors and the detractors of the pant among us should be exposed and thrown out to avoid further suffering to the Community? The Sikhs should be aware of the sinister designs of these hypocrites, who exploit the sentiments of the community for their vested interests even in this hour of grave crisis.

W.S.O. plans to hold a demonstration during the proposed visit of the Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to the United States between 12th and 15th June, 1985. We are looking forward to your wholehearted participation in saffron (Kesri) turbans and dupattas. Demonstrations would start at 9 a.m. from Lafayette Park opposite White House, Washington, D.C. and would march to the Capital Hill. A memorandum on behalf of the Sikhs living in the United States regarding Sikh grievances would be presented to President Reagan. A detailed statement would also be issued to the press.

We apprehend that Indian intelligence might attempt to infiltrate and foil our peaceful protest. Participants are requested to keep their cool despite provocations.

Further information regarding the exact date of the demonstration would be given after confirming Rajiv’s program. For inquiries and suggestions, please get in touch with the undersigned.

Please make arrangements for your stay with friends and relatives. Packed brunch would be distributed at the time of the start of the demonstration. Bring all the members of your family on this occasion.

Guru Fateh. Panth da Das,

Gurmit Singh Aulakh, Ph.D.

P.S.: Please give very wide publicity to the

Above mentioned programs in the Sikh Sangat of your area.
