NEW DELHI: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary, Mr Ashok Singhal, warned Muslim leaders not to oppose the Ayodhya temple’s construction Otherwise, he said his party would start an agitation for building temples at 3000 similarly disputed sites all over the country.
Addressing a huge crowd of saffron clad “kar Sevaks,” Singhal said Hindus have only asked for three places—the RamJanam Bhoomisite at Ayodhya, the Kishnajanam Bhoomi temple at Mathura and the Kashi Vishwanath temple at Varanasi. “But there are 3,000 places where temples have been razed and mosques built. We will sit on November 11 and decide what has to be done with these sites.”
He said Muslims should realize politicians cannot save them, “if anybody can save them, it is the Hindu.” They should learn to exist with us and we will protect them for every Hindu is secular.”
Fight to Continue: Mr. Singhal said the fight will continue and the Hindus will insist on their right of building a temple. “All it can talk about is the Babri Masjid clearly appeasing Mr. V.P.Singh and Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav are responsible for the condition the country is in today,” he added.
Relating his experience in Ayodhya, s built, According to him, his sort of oppression had perhaps never taken place in the country before. According to him the administrator had even censored the newspapers. And then, Mr. V.P. Singh talks about principles. Is this bloodshed a way of upholding principles?”
For the firing on November 2, when at least some men died, a commission should be set up to go into the matter, he said. “The guilty should be punished immediately.”
Mrs. Vijaya Raja Scindia vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Party said Hindus are awake and fighting for their rights. “We have decided we won’t live as second class citizens in India.”
