NEW DELHI: Sikhism one of many faiths built on the blood of its martyrs. On October 9, at 4 am in Pune jail, two more pillars of faith will stand tall and proudly face execution at a dawn hanging. It is only fitting that the act will take place under the cover of darkness. The sunrise will guide their souls to justly deserved freedom.
Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda and Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha who had earlier refused to petition for a stay from a court that symbolizes the very corrupt regime that mobilized the Khalistan movement will be long remembered for their bravery and faith.
The fact that the two spent most of their jail time in prayer assures their ascent to heaven and their names added to that golden roll of those who sacrificed their lives for their faith.
