STOCKTON — S. Gurcharan Singh Dhillon, president W.S.O. (U.S.A.) has made an appeal to all the Sikhs and Sikh institutions in the Bay area to extend every possible help to the earth quake victims through the Red Cross Society. He also appealed to the Sikhs in general to contribute liberty for the “North California Earth quake Relief Fund.”

S.Dhillon told the W.S.N. that W.S.O. has contributed $500.00 to the said fund.

S.Didar Singh Bains ex-president W.S.O. international and chairman of the Board of Di rectors of Sikh Temple Tierra Buena Yuba City in an interview with W.S.N., said that $10,000 had been donated to the relief fund. He was shocked to know the devastation caused by the earthquake. He also appealed to the Sikh community to rise to the occasion and join in the relief effort.

According to him a deputation comprising of Dil bagh Singh Bains, Gurnam Singh Pamma, Nachhattar Singh, Gurmej Singh Gill, Tarsem Singh Khalsa and Harbhajan Singh Sandhu had already left for San Francisco to deliver the check to the Mayor of San Francisco.

They will also coordinate the efforts of the local Sikh temples for arranging free lodging and catering to the victims. S. Bains said that a similar contribution is being sent to the local Red Cross branch, to be sent to San Francisco.

The World Sikh News has appealed for donating to the “Northern California Earthquake Relief Fund.”
