NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh said he would give up the president ship of the Janata Dal.
Talking to reporters soon after the swearing in ceremony, Singh did not say when he would do so.
The Prime Minister described Tuesday’s expansion of his cabinet as “first phase”.
In reply to a question, Singh said there were imbalances in the ministry and these would be re moved in the next phase of expansion.
The Prime Minister said the government would bring out a white paper on the country’s economic situation.
Asked if Chandra Shekhar would be made the Janata Dal president or included in the cabinet, Singh said that is between us”.
