BAHRAIN: The Janata Dal President V.P. Singh has threatened to sue those newspapers which carried the Arab Times report regarding his alleged $ 21 million secret bank account in the Caribbean island of St. Kitts.

In a telephonic conversation with the Khaleej Times on his return to Delhi from Calcutta V.P. Singh challenged anyone to provide an iota of evidence and said those newspapers which carried unverified stories must pay the price.

It is not clear from the Dubai based English daily report published on Saturday whether V.P Singh would’ take action against the Arab Times.

V.P. Singh said, “I am calling for a probe (into the allegation ) and the Rajiy Gandhi Government must order an enquiry so that we can know who was behind this obvious fraud to discredit me.”

He told the paper that “if I have deposited that sum, I would like this bank or the corporate trust to. give me the money.”

“I want that money, If they say it is mine then give it to me. It has to exist. You now the account number, so produce it for me.”

Asked if he could deny an account in his son’s name, Singh said: “If he and I have secret accounts we must have signed for them. Show me the signatures.”
