Sir,
It is questionable if VP Singh the newly elected Prime Minister in India would be able to achieve much. India is passing through a very crucial time. Most of these developments in that country are not due to foreign developments but because of wrong policies of the Congress governments, since the subcontinent attained freedom from the British. Its close links with the Russians have killed India, At home, the gross human rights violations, specially of the minorities like the Sikhs, Muslims, Dalit’s and Christians, have weakened the secular fabric of Indian community. Rightly, India today is at the verge of disintegration. Secondly, corruption at all levels, especially the highest levels has reached epidemic levels and there seems to be point of no return.
Mr. Singh does, therefore have a gigantic task before him. I am afraid if time will not be on his side, so that he could steer that country on to the correct path, as far as safeguards of human rights in Punjab and other states are concerned. Mr. Singh already has a lot of enemies. It’s possible that before he tries to bring to justice, those who actively participated in killings of Sikhs like the 1984 riots and other minorities, he could be done away with and eliminated from the scene.
Mr., Singh should endeavor to bring to justice terrorist Hindu organizations like Rashtrya Sevak Sangh (RSS), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) aud ‘Shiv Sena (SS) who are committing genocide in name of religion, against minorities in what is supposed to be a democratic and secular republic. He should bring to justice the engaged in committing organized crimes against peaceful and innocent citizens of India.
