Gandhi, who was invited by the prime minister for dinner, could not keep the appointment because the former premier had invited the King of Bhutan to dine with him, Congress (I) spokesman M.J_ Akbar said.

Gandhi later drove to Singh’s residence. What transpired between the two leaders could not be known immediately.
