NEW DELHI: Authorities sealed fire ravaged Vigyan Bhawan, the country’s most prestigious official conference complex, and armed security personnel stood guard as firemen began assessing damage inflicted by the inferno that wreaked havoc in the building Monday.
Fire officers and police personnel said the building had been sealed but a formal notice was yet to be displayed.
The main Vigyan Bhawan HaIl, where many international Conferences including the 1983 nonaligned summit was held, was completely gutted with its roof crumbling down on Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out on Monday afternoon, apparently due to an electric short circuit,
