NEW DELHI: Amar Nath Verma currently member-secretary in the planning commission was on Monday appointed principal secretary to Prime Minister P.V.Narasimha Rao.
A senior Indian administrative service officer holding the rank of cabinet secretary Verma succeeds S.K. Mishra in the prime minister’s office
Verma has held several important positions in the union govt including the key post of secretary both in the ministry of commerce and industry.
Vermas appointment is the first top level change in the bureaucracy after the Congress govt assumed power four days back.
