WASHING TON: In celebration of Vaisakhi the birthday of the Khalsa the Bhog ceremonies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Akhand Path were performed with great devotion by Sikh secretariat Sevadar, Bhai Swinder Singh and his associate, Bhai Narinder Singh Ji and members of his family including other notable like new WSO members Dr. T.P.S. Mann, Dr. itnderjit Singh, Dr. Jagjit Singh Khalsa, Dr. Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Darbara Singh, Davinder Singh Garcha, Balwinder Singh Shahi Surinder Singh Hansra including Dr. Mrs. Kamal Sethi and Amrit Singh Sethi and Sikh Sangat of Washington.

It may be recalled that this historic building was purchased in 1990. The most dedicated Sikhs of California, formed INTL Sikh Secretariat Bldg. Corp. Inc. by the Govt of California thus they set a great example in the history of the Sikhs in forcing lands that this is the only Sikh secretariat ‘owned building located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. This is the first. Occasion that an Akhand Path was performed since 1990.

On this great day of Vaisakhi, a great event ceremony was performed by establishing a Sikh International Reference Library Trust. By the efforts of Didar Singh Bains in approaching Malik of Satnam Trust, publications worth $4,000,00 were procured, In establishing the library a provision of another 25 thousand dollars needs to be acquired.

At the event of this grand Vaisakhi Gurpurab we received many valuable messages from eminent Sikh scholars which encouraged that this Intl Sikh Sect, starta Sikh National Trust called Guru Gobind Singh Trust. The funds needed are about one million dollars in order to establish a Sikh Lobby Firm ‘and news wire available worldwide, thus services need to be obtained from the experts. The Sikh Intl Sikh Secretariat will be responsible to approach UNO for its membership. (WSO has made many efforts to becomes N.G.O. member of UNO which we could not do up till today.)

At the function, the Sikh Sangat of Washington duly supported the World Sikh News as the spokesman of the Nation, At this Akhand Path Ceremony Didar Singh Bains sent a telephone message to Sikh Washington DC and ‘all members of WSO to be united under the banner of the Kesri Nishan Sahib in order to achieve our goal for a Sikh home land and said he appreciated the services of those who participated in performance of the Akhand Path.
