CHANDIGARH: A 20member high level business delegation of commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, led by Lt. Governor Stephen Lewis Henry held discussions with a Punjab team of senior officers and prominent industrialists led by the Chief Secretary of Punjab, Mr. T.K.A. Nair.
The Chief Minister said that with a strong agricultural base, there was a tremendous scope for a grounds tries linkages. He said that as per capita income in Punjab was the highest in the country, it was the most potentially lucrative market for consumer durables as well as other consumer goods.
Mr. Brar assured the delegation that the climate in the state last week was “investor friendly” and a number of large groups from within the country as also the foreign companies were making further investments in Punjab.
Lt. Governor Stephen Lewis Henry, in his brief address, said that their country was rich in agricultural and other allied resources and now they were keen for technological collaboration for accelerating the pace of development. He said that mutual dialogue between the Punjab team and their country would help in exploring new opportunities for growing trade, agro industry, tourism, generation of power and cement plants from used ash.
