LUCKNOW: The murder case of the ace Indian badminton player, Syed Modi, took a tum with Ameeta Modi, his widow, and Sanjay Singh, accused of plotting his murder, being discharged at the pretrial stage by a court here.
Modi was killed by some unidentified persons here on July 8, 1988.
The discharge was ordered by the district and sessions judge, O P Pradhan, amid tight security around the packed courtroom to the chant of slogan shouting by Sanjay Singh’s supporters.
Both Singh and Ameeta Modi were present in the court at the time of judgment.
