Des Moines, Iowa: All Sikh Organizations must work together to achieve the goal of Khalistan, said Mehar Singh, coordinator of the Sikh Coordination Committee (SCC). He told WSN that the “Kansas Declaration” adopted at the Sikh Unity Conference held on September 13, 1989 at Kansas City will be implemented. The SCC calls upon the various Sikh Organizations to work closely in a well-coordinated fashion and to make the best use of our very limited resources. There is a need for regular communication among the Sikh organizations to work in support of Sikh freedom fighters and Sikh victims; to promote Sikh Media, World Sikh News, and Sikh Broadcasting Network; Human Rights, (Amnesty International, United Nations Human Rights Commission); promoting Sikh cause and International Sikh leadership; Sikh religious education; involvement of Sikhs in American mainstream.

Dr. Balwant S. Hansra, Chicago; Dr. Gurcharan S. Dhillon, Sacramento; Dr. Hardam S. Azad, Houston; Mr. Amarjit S. Ahluwalia, New York; Dr. Rajwant Singh, Silver Springs; and Dr. Kirpal Singh, Creston are the SSC members.

The SCC praised Mehar S. Singh of Des Moines, and S. Harbhajan S. Hundal of Kansas City for the Sikh Unity Conference. It thanks and appreciates the Midwest Sikh Association, Gurdwara Management Committee, especially Harbhajan S. Hundal, President; Jaswinder S. Sidhu, Secretary; and Karnail S. Dulku, Treasurer, for hosting the Sikh Conference. SCC thanks all those people who attended the meeting.
