NEW YORK: A new committee was unanimously elected for a one year term to serve at the Mid-Hudson Sikh Cultural Society in upstate New York.

S.Shingara Singh was elected the new president. He succeeds S. Labh Singh who had been the president for the last four years during which the Gurdwara Sahib was building was bought and regular diwans started.

S.Amrik Singh Rai is the new Vice President, S. Parminder Singh the Secretary, Jagrup Singh the Asst. Secretary, S. Manjit Singh Sandhu, the Treasurer, Ranjit Singh Bhinder the Asst Treasurer, Jasbir Kaur Kalirao and Satinder Kaur Dhaliwal, the Langar in charge, Surjit Singh and S. Harpal Singh the Auditors.

The new committee member thanked their prediesors.

New members of the board of directors who were elected for a three year term include, S. Bhupinder Singh Bhatti, S. Sukhdev Singh Bhatti, S. Kulwant Singh Bhangu, S. Lakh Singh Bhangu, S. Hazara Singh Rathore and S. Harcharan Singh Bhatia.

About $7,000 was collected for the building of Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Glen Rock NJ on April 16 which marked the Vaisakhi celebration at the Gurdwara.

The highlight of the function was the children’s program and the presence of the Duchess County head.
