NEW DELHI: A Hindu militant or has labelled the recent plan of British government, to slaughter mad scows as an insult to the religious sentiments of Hindus who worship cows. In order to save the lives of more than five million mad cows Uishwa Hindu Parishad has directed its unit in London to provide medical aid and shelter for these mad or sick cows.
British Government wants to slaughter all the cows who were born before 1993 because of the possibility that they might be infected with deadly virus Causing madness. That virus could’ be Transmitted to humans and can cause deadly brain degeneration. British authorities feel that the recent 10 deaths reported could be linked to eating infected beef.
More than a decade ago farmers started feeding Cows with dried sheep meat products in order to improve milk yields, Sheep are known to harbor scrapie virus which can cause mad cow disease,
To India’s Hindus these meat-fed cows remain holy, even though, they have gone mad, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, however, denied, it planned to ship all cows to Indian sanctuaries. “Tis impossible to even think about bringing them here” a spokesman said: They fear that these infected cows could spread infection to other Indian cows. The message is “stay away from us but we still worship you.”
