NAGAON: The outlawed United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) in Indias Strategic northeast state of Assam has warned the people for the last time to desist from working against its goals in the larger interest of the state.
In a Statement here the ULFA said some people were working for the interest of their political parties by acting as agents of the federal government which went against the ideologies of the Organisation.
The ULFA which seeks secession from India was banned last November An army crackdown that followed destroyed most of its training camps in Assam.
Although a large number of ULFA cadres have been rounded up by the security forces its top leadership has so far eluded the security dragnet.
The statement also warned poachers and smugglers in Nagaon district engaged in looting the precious forest resources of dire consequences.

KOHIMA: Separatist Guerillas of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) killed five soldiers at Orankong in Tuensang district in the north eastern state of Nagaland on last Sunday the director inspector general of the 29th Assam rifles said.
He told the Press Trust of India here on Thursday that the soldiers belonging to the paramilitary Assam rifles had gone unarmed on a tanker to fetch water when they faced a volley of fire from the insurgents.
