GUWAHATI: Three camps for the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) militants are reportedly functioning in three districts of neighboring Bangladesh with training being given by Pakistani and Chinese instructors, official reports said in Guwahati, capital of the north-eastern Indian state of Assam Oct, 10.

The camps were located at Jamalpur road in Mymensingh district, Anarastila in Maulavi Bazar district and Jalanbagh in Sylhet district, it said.

A youth tried to commit suicide by shooting himself when the army, on a tipoff that ULFA militants were hiding in an ex- serviceman’s house, stormed in, at Gohpur village in Assam’s Sonitpur district Thursday, an official spokesman told newsmen.

The army which had ringed the house burst in when they heard gunshots and found the youth. He was sent to hospital.

One grenade and 24 rounds of ammunition were seized.
