Also senior U.A.D. leader denied any knowledge of behind the scene efforts to find the solution to the problem. Prime Minister supporting the efforts of Acharya Sushil Muni to find a political solution to the Punjab problem if made honestly and sincerely to find an honorable solution to the entire satisfaction of Sikhs. The two U. A.D. leaders said “We feel happy. Our stand that suppression is not an answer has been vindicated although it is belated realization that the political aspiration of the people can be neither suppressed nor dealt with as a law and order problem. They urged the Prime Minister to take a bold initiative to assuage the hurt feelings of the Sikhs. Badal and Sukhjinder Singh who had a hectic tour of this district in connection with February 11 convention said that there was a great enthusiasm for the convention. They demanded an immediate release of Jagdev Singh Talwandi, Gurcharan Singh Tohra on health ground.
