TOKYO-A US. Navy tanker ‘on a training mission ran aground off the coast of the Japanese island ‘of Kyushu Saturday, a Navy spokesman said,
The 35,091-ton US, Misphilion from the Sasebo naval base in western Kyushu, struck a rock off Ikeshima island, the spokesman said.
“Everybody on board is OK,” the spokesman said, He added that the crew of 125 was still on board the ship.
‘The extent of the damage caused by the accident was not immediately known.
