CHANDIGARE: The five-man Panthic Committee (Zaffarwal) announced complete unity with the Khalistan Commando Force (Zaffarwal) the Dashmesh Regiment and the Sikh Students Federation (Metha-Chawla group).

In a press note issued here by Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Gora KCF deputy chief pointed out that while the militant outfits would continue to operate underground the Sikh Students Federation would function among the masses and articulate their feelings. He said efforts would continue in the direction of forging unity among all militant outfits on the basis of common strategy and goal.

The Panthic Committee opposed the fratricidal war among the militants and declared that Bhai Harmandar Singh Sandhu alias Bhai Sardul Singh Bhai Nishan Singh Bhai Pargat Singh Bhai Manpreet Singh Bhai Kulwant Singh Bhai Sukhwant Singh Akkanwali Bhai Chamkaur Singh Roade and Bhai Joginder Singh Popy were martyrs in the cause of Khalistan it warned that if any activist of the committee was harmed in future it would pay back in the same coin.

It also said that it regarded the Damdami Taksal as the center of the present struggle and held in high regard its chief Baba Thakar Singh.

Meanwhile Sikh Students Federation (Mehta-Chawla) group announced that Sikh intellectuals and politicians would meet on February 10 at Ludhiana to discuss the ongoing Sikh struggle.

The SSF also criticized the ban on the distribution of the Jalandhar daily Ajit by the government and said it wanted to keep the people in the dark about the daily happenings and “excesses” in the state.

In another statement Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla Bhai Manjit Singh and Bhai Amnk Singh SSF leaders objected to the criticism of Baba Sucha Singh Maloya Mrs Bimal Khalsa and Mr Gunej Singh by Mr Simranjit Singh Mann and other Akali Dal (M) leaders and said this had caused a setback to the Sikh struggle
