CHANDIGARH,(PTI ):Nine people, including seven militants, were killed, three militants arrested and large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosive material recovered in the strife-tom northern Indian state of Punjab. Two militants belonging to the so-called Khalistan Liberation For Inder Singh alias Budh Singh and Sukhwinder Singh alias Krishan Singh, were killed in an encounter with a police party in Batala police district on June 27, Four unidentified militants were killed in separate encounters, three near village Mughalwal and one near village Miraz in Bathinda district during the same period. Another militant identified as Dhira Singh was killed in an encounter with security forces near village Dubli in Tam Taran police.
