Babbar Khalsa International top militant Balwinder Singh, alias Bullet, and his two accomplices and an assistant sub inspector of police were among seven persons killed, while four militants were arrested in Haryana and Punjab last week.
‘The Haryana police gunned down Balwinder Singh, alias Bullet, and his two accomplices identified as Amrik Singh, alias Biroo, and Sukhdeep Singh, alias China, near Ghaswa village, in the Ratia area of Hisar district. ASI Sube Singh was also killed, while DSP Ram Gopal and Constable Balbir Singh were injured in the encounter.
The killing of Balwinder Singh and his accomplices comes close on the heels of the two recent encounters in Kurukshetra and Sirsa districts of Haryana during the past few weeks in which seven militants wanted in several cases in Punjab and Haryana were killed.
In another encounter, the security forces gunned down three militants near Bizarwal village in Majitha police district. Two of them were later identified as Sujit Singh and Pritam Singh.
