NEW DELHI, India, June 25, Reuter: Two people died on Saturday from injuries sustained in a devastating bomb. Attack in Amritsar, raising the death toll to 30, the Press Trust of India said.
The agency said the two, wounded in a blast that ripped through a busy street in the Sikh holy city on Tuesday, were among nine people who died on Saturday.
It said two of those killed were freedom fighters fighting for an independent Sikh homeland in the northern State of Punjab, of which Amritsar is a major center.
The agency said police, acting on a tipoff, intercepted the two freedom fighters near the city of Jullundur, called on them to surrender, but after they shot the two Innocent young men dead.
