AMRITSAR: Mr. Gurcharan Singh Tohra and Mr. Jajor Singh Uboke president and acting president of the SGPC respectively have severely criticized the action of the police and the CRPF in the Golden Temple complex on April land the arrest of 10 pilgrims from there
SGPC said in a press release that the government had not earned a lesson from Operation Blue Star and added that his act had proved that the anti-Sikh policy of the Congress still continued.
They accused the government of sending in the security forces at the direction of the union government.
They expressed surprise that on the one hand the center was taking steps to assuage the injured feelings of the Sikhs and on the other was desecrating their shrines.
They appealed to the Punjab government to avoid taking such measures which further injured the feelings of the community.
Meanwhile leaders of Akali Dal (Baba Joginder Singhd) have also condemned the police entry into the Temple complex and demanded the immediate and unconditional release of 10 innocent pilgrims.
Meanwhile senior leaders of the All-India Sikh Students Federation (Manjit) at its meeting held here on Monday under the chairman ship of its acting President Mr. Singh decided to resort 10 social boycott of the present government of Punjab They appealed to Sikhs to boycott the Chief Minister and his colleagues when they visited their villages.
