CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra said he apprehended that he would be killed by the police.

P.S. Hundal his council said Tohra had reasons to believe that the government wanted to kill
Tohra on some or the other pretext.
His detention at Khalra was to kill Tohra in a staged “escape” which would show that the freedom fighters had tried to free him from the police.
The state government wanted to kill two birds with one stone the council said, Alternatively it would get Tohra killed by security forces and blame the freedom fighters for the act.
