Dear President Clinton

The very people who have been describing you as skewed going overboard for supporting a peaceful solution to Punjab & Kashmir problem for defending their rights are now deluding you with leters from the past several months to send Mr. Stephen Solarz as the next envoy to India.

It is be recalled Mr. Solarz was the top ranking member of the US Foreign Senate Bank scandal by overdrawing close to 700 checks and was rejected by the American people in his own district. A man who cannot even balance his checkbook and is more interested in his personnel financial gains and fame will neither serve the interests of Hindu Indians nor Americans in the long term but more  painful than that  was Mr. Solarz’s stand against the Sikhs-in the US Congress for covering up India’s blatant human right violations and its killing apparatus for eliminating tens of thousands of Sikhs (which has been well documented by Amnesty Intl. & Asia Watch) in the name of containing alleged terrorism. All this coming from a man of Jewish origin whose faith members are constantly reminding the world of Holocaust and Nazi atrocities becomes even more difficult to understand.

Hindu Americans would consider Solarz’s approval for the esteemed job of US envoy to India by the US President as 2 stamp of approval of India’s pogrom of the Sikhs since 84. A wrong message is being sent to the government of India and to the fascist rulers of the world. Therefore an alternate candidate who is more sympathetic towards the oppressed people of the world and who can monitor India’s continued human rights violations more closely and honestly in Punjab and Kashmir should be considered

Finally i laud you by recognizing the need for a peaceful solution for Punjab in your letter to Hon. Gary Condit. There has been no dialog negotiations or accords between the representatives of Sikhs and the government of India that have been earnestly implemented to-date On 10/26/93 the New York Times reported that the calm of the surface in the Sikh homeland has been achieved by unleashing a reign of terror executed by ruthless and unrestrained policemen. Beant Singh who won an orchestrated election (according to NY times) is only playing to the tune of the rulers in Delhi and is betraying the Sikh cause.
