LUCKNOW: Veteran Congress leader, Narain Dutt Tiwari, has resigned from the Congress Working Committee and all other party posts in protest against threats of disciplinary action against him if he participated in the Martyr’s Day functions, at Bathinda, on March 23.
In a strongly worded letter faxed to the AICC president, P.V. Narasimha Rao, Tiwari asked, “Is it a political crime to offer floral tributes to martyrs like Sardar Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev on the anniversary of their martyrdom?”
Tiwari had been warned against taking part in the Martyrs Day function.
