PANJWAR, KHURD (AMRITSAR): Militants Harjinder Singh Jinda and Tarsem Singh Khojekpur, Lt. Generals of Bhindranwale Tigers Force (Manochahal) and Khalistan Commando Force (Panjwar) were among six militants killed in three Separate encounters in Tarn Taran Police on Oct.18.
Ina fierce encounter Harjinder Singh Jinda, a Lt. General of BTF (Manochahal) and his one unidentified accomplice were gunned down at Sitabad village in Tamm Taran police district on Saturday evening. Jinda was wanted in over 22 killings including bomb explosions. In another encounter in the same police district, Tarsem Singh Khojekpur, a Lt. General of the KCF (Panjwar) and his unidentified accomplice were shot dead by a security force naka party at jindar Uppal village on Saturday evening Khojekpur was wanted in over a hundred killings.
In the third encounter in the same police district, Joginder Singh, an area commander of Dashmesh Regiment and his one unidentified associate were gunned down by the security forces at Ashan Utal village on Oct.18.
Militants gunned down six relations of a special police officer (SPO), Kalu Ram, in Panjwar Khurd village on Oct.16. According to the villagers a group of seven to eight armed militants entered the village around 9 p.m. on Oct.16. They went to the house of SPO Kalu Ram and killed all the male members present there. Those killed in this incident were identified as Hajara Singh, Piara Singh, Kartar Singh, Kuldip Singh, Jarnail Singh and Suba Singh.
One of the villagers told that it was the handiwork of the group of Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwar, chief of the Khalistan Commando Force (KCF), Bhai Panjwar belongs to Panjwar Khurd village.
